Initial consultation

Before we can begin working together we will have a free telephone conversation, which usually takes about 10-15 mins. This will enable me to find out about you, your background and the challenges you are facing, and if I can help. It is also a chance for you to ask any questions about counselling and share your expectations and goals.
If we are both happy to move forward, we can discuss how to move forward over the short term and long term. From there on, we can book in your next few appointments or we can take it session by session.

Systemic Psychotherapy

As a Psychotherapist, I am committed to the Systemic Approach that sees individuals and family members as part of a system that relates and influences each other in negative and positive ways, hence the need to work together to find solutions to difficulties.

Systemic Psychotherapy is a branch of talking therapy, which research indicates is effective in a wide range of areas including parenting issues, child and adolescent behaviour, divorce and separation, adult mental health and changes in family life.

This type of psychotherapy is particularly helpful in supporting families going through significant life changes, as well as treating specific problems such as relationship difficulties, psycho-sexual problems, domestic violence, mood disorders: anxiety and depression, alcohol or drug abuse, schizophrenia, adjustment to chronic physical illness.

As a systemic psychotherapist, I can help with a variety of issue that you may be struggling with.

Supervision, consulting and mentoring

I subscribe to the AFT adaptation of the DOH (1993) definition of Clinical Supervision as:
“A formal process of professional support and learning which enables individuals to develop knowledge and with confidence, assume responsibility for their own practice and enhance consumer protection and safety of care.”

As an experienced practitioner and clinical supervisor, I offer supervision to qualified systemic therapists and trainees at whatever stage of their development or career, for both individuals and groups. This is done in a collaborative and engaging manner to enhance reflectivity, competence, and productivity.

Through consulting and mentoring to individuals/organisations from other professional backgrounds, I support them in exploring ways of enhancing their skills and enriching their professionalism and productivity
